Collection: Pauline Wood

Pauline is an artist printmaker who lives and works in Northamptonshire, UK. She gained her BA Fine Art with Honours (First Class) from the University of Northampton (2000) and her MA Visual Arts Printmaking (Distinction) from UAL Camberwell College of Arts (2015).

Pauline has a strong experimental creative practice and is actively engaged in making and exhibiting artworks that make an enquiry into the nature of printmaking. She founded Intercession Gallery in Northampton in order to provide a platform for such works by her and many other contemporary artists to be seen and experienced

Alongside making more experimental works Pauline enjoys a love of illustration and continues to make whimsical, day-dream inspired pictures which often draw upon the open landscape around her home town of Raunds.

The natural world and its intrinsic spiritual relationship to us is one of the main themes of Pauline’s mixed media etchings and mono prints. She often uses countryside imagery of trees, birds, fields, rivers and figures to reflect inner emotions and mystic longings.

Pauline works from her Northamptonshire studio where she creates her prints using traditional printmaking methods, tools and inks along with her beautiful hand operated star-wheel Pinner printing press that was made in London in 1837.
