Collection: Michelle Lowe

Michelle's decorations are drawn from the simple pleasures of gardening, foraging in woodlands and hedgerows, cooking and eating good food, and wild swimming and riding bikes.

All pieces are carefully handmade on a pottery wheel or by rolling out slabs of clay. They are made from red earthenware clay coated in a creamy clay slip and then decorated with slips and oxides.

Once dry, the pots are bisque-fired to 1000ºC, glazed with a transparent glaze then re-fired to 1130ºC.

Michelle came to ceramics by a round-about route via a background in Social Anthropology and a decade working for human rights and social justice charities and works from her Scottish workshop
